Academic Standard
|
Ideally, applicants should be commencing the first
year of a full-time, first-degree course at any of the
University of Wales Colleges i.e Aberystwyth, Bangor,
Cardiff including UWIC and the College of Medicine,
Lampeter, Newport, Swansea, and from the University of
Glamorgan. Degree subject is of no importance, unless
intending to apply for the medical, dental, engineering,
or chaplain branches in the RAF. Consideration will be
given to applicants, who have started their second year,
but they must have at least 18 months remaining before
graduation. The following are not acceptable for membership:
- Students who are undertaking a foundation course, even if it is a prerequisite for degree course.
- Undergraduates, who, due to their political beliefs, are not acceptable under the official Secrets Act.
- Any Commonwealth undergraduate, who is prohibited from joining a University Air Squadron by the terms of military commitment, which they may have with their own country.

Age Limits

| The minimum age for the entry is 17½ and appointment
is normally restricted to those who will be aged 23½ or below,
on graduation from University. An applicant, under the age of 18, may
only be accepted if the consent of the parent, or guardian, is obtained.
